Next year, the Wellcome Trust will pause its major humanities and social sciences grant schemes for two one-off calls to boost research capacity. Jack Harrington, Wellcome’s portfolio manager, tells Ashleigh Furlong what to expect.

The Wellcome Trust’s Investigator and Collaborative Award schemes in the social sciences and humanities will be paused for a year from July 2020 to make way for two schemes aimed at boosting global research capacity in medical humanities and social science research.
