Opportunity profile: Working together to cure Parkinson’s

The Cure Parkinson’s Trust has a specific remit: to find a cure for the debilitating disease. Applicants must emphasise this aspect and also think about collaboration, the trust’s deputy chief executive Helen Matthews tells Ashleigh Furlong.

Helen’s top tips

  • Aim to show disease modification and collect biomarker evidence.
  • The trust likes to see evidence of collaboration in applications.
  • Seek input on bids from people living with Parkinson’s.

The Cure Parkinson’s Trust is a charity focused very much on supporting translational medicine that could slow, stop or reverse Parkinson’s disease. Its Research Grants only support projects that can translate into phase 2b clinical trials within five years.
