Academy’s small but highly prized awards require attention to detail
The British Academy opened the first biannual Small Research Grants competition of the year on 7 April with a deadline for applications of 2 June. Like in previous rounds, the grants are worth up to £10,000 over two years to support research in the academy’s remit. In this article from 2019, grantee Alison Wray, research professor in language and communication at Cardiff University, reflects on not letting the grant’s small size trick her into thinking that winning would be easy.
