Enthusiasm is just as important as publication record in prestigious scheme

Cern’s early career fellowships are open once again, with a deadline of 1 September. This year—fingers crossed—fellows will not be hampered in taking up their places due to travel restrictions. 

Those wary of applying, because of lingering doubts over whether their experience will measure up to the competition’s in this highly prestigious scheme, should take heart. As we learnt in 2019, when this article was first published, success in the fellowship schemes is often more about showing willingness to learn than an unimpeachable track record.
