The Royal Academy of Engineering’s Leverhulme fellowships give researchers a break to build their careers

Following on from last week’s profile of the Leverhulme Trust’s long-running Research Fellowships scheme, we dig out an interview from September 2020 with Barbara Villarini, a former winner of the branch of the scheme run in conjunction with the Royal Academy of Engineering. As Villarini says, showing that your research idea has the backing of senior collaborators can go a long way in convincing the funders to back your bid.

The deadline for Leverhulme Trust / Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowships is 15 November (the general Research Fellowships call is open till 10 November) and, as in previous years, the fellowships will cover up to £55,000 a year, with an additional £2,500 available for research-related expenses.
