Advice from a panellist helped psychiatrist Najma Siddiqi win a Programme Development Grant
Offering up to £2.5 million over six years, the National Institute for Health and Care Research’s Programme Grants for Applied Research are among the real heavyweight grants in the UK’s biomedical funding landscape.
Funding of such size has to be worked towards, and that is where the NIHR’s Programme Development Grants come in, enabling preparatory and capacity-building work in the run-up to an eventual Programme Grant bid. They offer up to £150,000 over one-to-two years and run three times per year. The remaining deadlines this year are on 24 May and 20 September.
