The second of a two-part special to celebrate the fourth round of the prestigious scheme

For the second of our two archive selections tying in with the launch of the Leverhulme Trust’s fourth Research Centres call, we present this interview with Chris Thomas (pictured), director of the Leverhulme Centre for Anthropocene Biodiversity, which was awarded funding in 2019.

Thomas explained how the bid for the centre avoided the understandable desire to wow the panel with globe-spanning collaborations, in the knowledge that a project that keeps things local can still be highly ambitious.
