Community involvement is crucial to win funding for end-of-life care research

As Hannah Thomas, senior research manager at the charity Marie Curie, acknowledged in this interview in May last year, end-of-life care is an underfunded research field. For that reason, Marie Curie’s Research Grants scheme is particularly valuable to researchers in this area.

The scheme runs with a different focus each year, and for the 2024 competition Marie Curie is partnering with the Alzheimer’s Society. Call details will be published at the beginning of June, but the charities have already announced that up to £1 million will be available in total for successful bids.
