The concluding part of this primer of primers tackles the EU, learned societies and charities

Part one of my grand tour of UK funding—intended for researchers who have moved to UK academia recently (welcome!) and for UK researchers in the very early stages of their careers—dealt with the UK’s dual support system, focusing on the primary source of competitive grant funding: UK Research and Innovation.

In this article, I will attempt to summarise…everything else. I’ll touch on the National Institute for Health Research, research charities and learned societies, and will conclude with some general advice on finding research funding. But first of all, let’s turn our eyes to Europe.
