Charities, medics and researchers have signed up to a partnership for chronic fatigue syndrome research, which includes an agreement not to harass or abuse researchers working in the field.
The partnership between the Medical Research Council and charities such as Action for Myalgic Encephalomyelopathy and the ME Association among others, was launched in London on 22 April.
The charter follows the decisions of some CFS/ME researchers to leave the field because of sustained attacks from members of the public, sometimes from CFS/ME patients who disagree with a line of inquiry or research conclusion.
