Seminar hears that adult learners will need higher education for transition into greener jobs

Universities have a “huge opportunity” to reskill vast numbers of adult learners away from carbon-intensive occupations in the fight against climate change, an academic has said.

Keri Facer, professor of educational and social futures at the University of Bristol, told delegates at a webinar on sustainability hosted by the Higher Education Policy Institute and Lloyds Bank on 8 June that universities should consider how to help workers switch careers away from carbon-intensive roles.
