Universities pledge to work with schools

All English universities have promised to work with schools from autumn 2018 to help improve access to higher education.

Working with schools to raise attainment for disadvantaged pupils is a condition of access-agreement approval, which allows English universities to raise their tuition fees in line with inflation.

An annual summary published by the Office for Fair Access on 23 August shows that all English universities have devised plans to work with schools to raise attainment among disadvantaged pupils and help them overcome any barriers created by their circumstances.
