Hinds sets out OfS priorities

The education secretary has issued guidance to the Office for Students setting out his priority areas for the regulator in the coming financial year.

In a letter dated 27 February, Damian Hinds (pictured) details the areas in which he wants the regulator to “further develop its progress”. These include supporting the government in responding to Philip Augar’s review of post-18 education funding; completing the process of registering providers as soon as possible; and developing its role relating to countering financial mismanagement and fraud.

The letter also welcomes the OfS’s report on senior staff pay levels, but urges it to do more in this area.
