OfS could refuse registration for 20 providers

The Office for Students is “minded to refuse registration” for 20 providers, according to papers released this week, which also show low return rates for a new employment survey and less money for residual teaching budgets.

Board papers for a meeting that took place on 26 March show that as of 11 March, there were 20 higher education providers that the regulator is considering barring from its list of registered providers. The latest figure for registered providers stands at 352.

HE understands that those affected will be given the option to provide extra submissions before a final decision is made, but institutions that are refused registration will be named by the regulator in the interests of transparency.
