Just 12 registered institutions have escaped any form of mitigation from the Office for Students, according to the regulator’s first annual report.
As of 31 March, a total of 871 mitigations had been applied to providers by the regulator, including specific conditions, enhanced monitoring and formal communication, with some institutions subject to more than one kind of monitoring or intervention, the regulator’s records for 2018-19 show.
The annual report reveals that there were 216 institutions under enhanced monitoring, compared with 194 when HE first revealed the scale of oversight earlier this year.
