OfS to intervene if union strikes disrupt students’ studies

Regulator steps in as the University and College Union considers its next move on industrial action

Universities have been warned to make sure any upcoming strike action does not disrupt students’ learning, as the Office for Students promised to intervene over any breaches of registration.

On 1 November, the OfS said it would “seek to identify” universities that had “failed to systematically protect the interests of students” during strike action, and it urged students affected to tell the complaints body, the Office of the Independent Adjudicator.
