Universities told to improve student retention as quit rate rises

Universities minister Chris Skidmore has said institutions should be held “individually responsible” for a surge in students abandoning their studies.

Skidmore said it was “essential” that universities improve their dropout rates and called for universities to provide better support for students once they have enrolled on courses.
