Regulator sets out plans to fine universities

OfS asks universities and students for opinions on how to hand out financial penalties.

Universities are being asked how they would like to be fined by the Office for Students.

In a consultation on its approach to applying financial penalties, which opened on 3 March, the OfS said it would use fines to “demonstrate visible consequences” for universities that breach their conditions of registration with the regulator.
