Universities warn students could miss out because of the regulator’s quality and standards proposals
London universities have asked the Office for Students to reconsider proposals in its quality and standards consultation, raising “numerous concerns” about the risk to access and participation in the capital.
In its response to the OfS plans, the London Higher group of universities warned that the approach to quality and standards put forward by England’s regulator represented “a distinct risk” that students from the city’s most disadvantaged areas and its Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities “will be denied the opportunity of engaging in life-changing higher education opportunities”.
