More progress needed on digital education, says Barber

Only around a fifth of lecturers feel confident creating and delivering online classes, report finds

It is a “big ask” to rapidly improve digital learning and teaching in universities, but progress made during the pandemic must be continued, according to the outgoing chair of the Office for Students.

During a briefing for journalists on 24 February, Michael Barber told Research Professional News that although improving digital education was challenging, it was a “necessary ask if we’re going to make the most of digital teaching and learning”.
