Proportion of staff from minority ethnic backgrounds still far lower than student population

The proportion of staff at the Office for Students from an ethnic minority background has reached 10 per cent, a 1 percentage point increase on last year—but still “considerably lower” than the student population.

Equality, diversity and inclusion staff statistics published by the OfS on 8 June show that of its staff who declared their ethnicity, 10 per cent said they were from minority ethnic backgrounds. This represents a 1 percentage point rise on the 9 per cent recorded in 2020.
