The Joint Expert Panel that was set up to advise on the Universities Superannuation Scheme pensions dispute, is calling for evidence on how issues with the scheme can be resolved.

On 5 February the panel, comprising representatives of Universities UK and the University and College Union, sent out a call for “stakeholders” to submit their views on the long-term sustainability of the scheme and its valuation methodology. The views will inform the panel’s second phase of work, starting later this year.

Among topics the panel of independent experts wants to hear about are the roles of UCU and UUK in the valuation process, how scheme members can become more involved, and how the governance of the valuation process can be improved. A full list of subjects can be found on the Joint Expert Panel website, and submissions must be made by 15 March.
