Lancaster names next vice-chancellor

University of Birmingham scholar to lead Lancaster University

Lancaster University has picked Andy Schofield as vice-chancellor.

Schofield, who is currently pro-vice-chancellor and head of the college of engineering and physical sciences at the University of Birmingham, will join Lancaster on 1 May. He takes over from Mark E. Smith, who has become vice-chancellor at the University of Southampton.
