University of Reading opens internal investigation after attempts to occupy finance centre

A student has been suspended and at least one person banned from campus by the University of Reading’s deputy vice-chancellor after several people tried to take control of a building.

An internal investigation has begun after a group of protesters attempted to occupy the ICMA finance centre on the University of Reading campus on 1 December, in support of staff taking part in the University College Union strikes over pensions and pay.
