South London medical school says Metropolitan Police were called out for protest

St George’s, University of London has confirmed that police were called to a protest by striking security staff at its campus.

In a statement released 13 January, St George’s medical school said it had asked the workers on strike—who are employed by a third party—to move their protest away from the university’s main entrance to a nearby road. The strike marked the first of 15 days of non-consecutive planned action at St Georges by the United Voices of the World Union.
