University and College Union members unhappy at proposed job cuts

The University and College Union is to ballot members at the University of East London for industrial action over proposed compulsory job losses at the institution.

The union said the dispute related to 10 compulsory job cuts and “the knock-on additional workload that staff would face” as a result, and added that strike action was “a last resort”. The ballot of members will run from 17 November until 16 December.
