Sussex staff urge release of USS response amid valuation criticism

Union and pension members call for university’s consultation response after critical Cambridge joint letter

The University of Sussex has defended its decision not to publish its response to the latest Universities Superannuation Scheme consultation, despite pressure from staff.

Members of the University and College Union at Sussex called on university leaders to release their submission to the USS consultation, which closed on 30 October, after the University of Cambridge and its UCU branch published a joint open letter criticising the proposed 2020 valuation of the scheme.
