Pension fund under pressure as University of Bristol declares itself free of fossil fuel investments

As strike action began at the University of Bristol yesterday, management and staff crossed the divide and urged the Universities Superannuation Scheme to divest £1 billion from fossil fuels.

On 20 February, the University of Bristol confirmed that it had “completely divested” from all fossil fuels after it became the first UK university to declare a climate emergency last year.
