Union calls for collaboration between universities and government on Covid-19 recovery plan
The general secretary of the University and College Union Jo Grady has written to education secretary Gavin Williamson, asking for a united front to protect jobs and institutions in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.
In a letter dated 2 April, Grady (pictured) calls for government action and outlines a seven-point plan to retain academic capacity. The union says the UK cannot afford to lose university staff at a time when education will be a key driver of recovery.
