Social sciences building project runs into problems and must be rebuilt
The University of Sheffield has begun to demolish up to half of its new £65m social sciences faculty building after construction work ran into problems.
According to the university, the new “world-class” facility will “enhance the student experience and encourage interdisciplinary research”. Construction started in May 2019, and once complete, the faculty will feature “collaborative teaching and social spaces, and offer a wide range of disciplines under the same roof for the first time”.
