Social Mobility Commission probes link between education and earnings

Educational achievement does not remove the “long shadow” of family background in England’s least socially mobile areas, according to the Social Mobility Commission.

In a report published 15 September, the SMC revealed stark differences in how far education can close the wage gap among men from the most and least deprived families in different areas of England.
