Race Equality Charter: Black staff still miss out despite progress

  

Equality mark leads to some changes in universities, but improvements are uneven

The Race Equality Charter is beginning to have a positive impact in universities, but Black staff and students are less likely to feel the benefits, a report has found.

In its 2020-21 review of the REC, the consultancy Douglas Oloyede discovered that the charter is already having a positive impact in universities that have held the award since 2015, when the charter was established.
