Union consultation suggests 86 per cent of members opposed to pay and conditions deal

The University and College Union says almost nine in every 10 of its members want to reject their employers’ final pay and conditions offer for the 2020-21 academic year.

The UCU conducted a wide-ranging consultative e-ballot of members last month. Respondents were overwhelmingly opposed to the final pay and conditions offer from the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA), with 86.2 per cent saying they would reject the terms and just 13.8 per cent saying they would accept the deal, which includes a pay freeze.
