Fall in business students could ‘significantly impact’ whole sector

British Academy highlights threats facing the UK’s most popular subject

The British Academy has warned that a drop in student enrolments to business and management courses could “significantly impact the wider UK higher education ecosystem”, given the high proportion of international students taking the subject.

In a report on business and management provision in UK universities, the academy said the “healthy and thriving field of study” attracts the highest number of students, with 16.3 per cent of all students (412,815) in the 2019-20 academic year taking business and management subjects.
