Union members will work to contracted hours in May in row over possible job losses

Staff at the University of Liverpool are preparing to take industrial action for up to five months to protest against potential job cuts at the faculty of health and life sciences.

More than 1,000 members of the University and College Union plan to take industrial action from 10 May, which will include members only working to contracted hours and boycotting all voluntary activities. The action could take place for up to five months and follows a vote earlier this month where union members were overwhelmingly in support of both striking and action short of a strike.
