Union votes for industrial action amid redundancy risk for almost 50 staff

Staff at the University of Liverpool have backed strike action over the potential loss of 47 teaching and research jobs in the faculty of health and life sciences.

The University and College Union (UCU) said 84 per cent of its members who voted at the university backed strike action, with 90 per cent backing action short of a strike, such as boycotting marking and assessment work.
