UUK demands more mental health funding for universities

   

Call comes as universities excluded from £17 million in extra funding for schools and colleges

Vice-chancellors have called for targeted funding for universities to support students’ mental health, after higher education was missed out of government funding for post-pandemic mental health support.

To mark the start of Mental Health Awareness week on 10 May, education secretary Gavin Williamson released around £17 million to improve mental health and wellbeing support in schools and colleges.
