Academics call for better support under free speech bill

Professors argue it should be made easier for speakers to take legal action against universities

Two academics have suggested that more support should be offered to those who want to take legal action against universities under the upcoming free speech bill.

University of Reading professor Rosa Freedman and Open University professor Jo Phoenix said people who want to take action against universities over restrictions on their freedom of speech must be given access to an employment tribunal to help meet the costs of taking on universities.
