Students with rent contracts will not be reassessed for loans, even if they moved home
The Student Loans Company has reassured students that the amount of maintenance loan they receive will not change if they have moved home for this term as a result of government travel restrictions.
Students usually receive a lower level of maintenance loan if they live at home rather than in term-time accommodation, with students living at home eligible for £7,747 compared to £9,203 for students living at university outside of London in the 2020-21 academic year.
