UCAS data highlight growth in applications to UK universities from Kuwait, Saudia Arabia and Ghana

Applications to UK universities from students in some African and Middle Eastern countries have grown by around a quarter compared with last year, but China still has the biggest share among non-European Union students.

Data published by admissions body UCAS on 20 February reveal that in 2019, applications from potential students in Kuwait rose to 1,280, an increase of 26.9 per cent compared with 2018. UCAS said the results showed that Kuwait was “now an emerging source of applicants to UK higher education”.
