Universities voice Brexit recruitment concerns

There is some anecdotal evidence to suggest problems with recruiting academic staff, a survey has found.

Brexit has not yet had a clear effect on recruitment or retention of international staff, according to the survey published on 1 August by the Universities and Colleges Employers Association.

However higher education institutions are seeing “a small but significant” number of cases where Brexit has caused the loss of, or failure to recruit, senior academic staff, it said.
