Universities and science minister outlines plans for a Teaching Excellence Framework.
Universities minister Jo Johnson will call today for a “renewed focus on teaching” in universities to improve perceptions of value for money and deliver employment skills. This will be achieved through developing a Teaching Excellence Framework, he will say.
In his second speech in his new role, Johnson will tell an audience of vice-chancellors at Universities UK that he will implement three manifesto pledges. He intends to deliver the Teaching Excellence Framework; to ensure both students and taxpayers get value for money; and to widen participation by lifting the cap on student numbers.
