Student income and expenditure survey finally published

The Department for Education has published the long-awaited Student Income and Expenditure Survey for 2014 to 2015.

The government uses the Student Income and Expenditure Survey, published 22 March, to track student expenditure and debt.

The National Centre for Social Research collects information on student income and spending every few years. The latest edition, for 2014-15, was commissioned by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. It was delayed and responsibility then passed to the Department for Education, which took responsibility for higher education in 2016.
