Education secretary claims countries focusing more on technical skills to tackle AI challenges

A university education “isn’t the be all and end all” as countries fight to develop the right technical skills to meet the challenges posed by artificial intelligence, according to the education secretary.

Speaking at the Education World Forum in London on 20 January, education secretary Gavin Williamson told delegates from across the world that universities might not be able to develop the “new and constantly changing skillset” needed in the future workforce.
