Government-backed survey reveals disquiet over interest rates for student finance
Most people believe that no interest should be paid on student loans, according to a government survey.
Asking questions through market research firm NatCen’s British Social Attitudes survey, the Department for Education has discovered that 58 per cent of adults want to see zero interest applied to student loans, while 34 per cent think a lower rate than would usually be charged by a bank should apply.
