Universities on department’s list of qualifications to lose funding

But one university says that none of its qualifications listed receive public money

Two universities are among the institutions listed by the Department for Education that could see government funding cut for qualifications that have attracted low numbers of students.

The University of the Arts London and the University of West London have qualifications that the department says could lose public funding under proposals drawn up by education secretary Gavin Williamson. A list of more than 5,000 qualifications with fewer than 100 students enrolled was published by the department—many with no students whatsoever—all of which could have their funding cut from August 2021.
