‘No restrictions’ on in-person lectures from autumn

     

Gavin Williamson triggers UCU anger with announcement on face-to-face teaching in England

Education secretary Gavin Williamson has confirmed that all restrictions on in-person teaching in England will be lifted for the start of the next academic term, despite most students not being fully vaccinated by then.

Williamson told MPs in the House of Commons on 6 July that there will be “no restrictions on in-person teaching and learning in universities” in England when Covid-19 measures end on 19 July, meaning students will be able to go back to on-campus lectures.
