Research England has published a draft of the institutional-level environment pilot that will take place during the Research Excellence Framework 2021.
According to the draft guidance, published on 10 April, institutions will be judged on the extent to which they create and facilitate “a culture of collaboration” and how much the institution’s research environment “ensures the future health, diversity, wellbeing and wider contribution of the institution and its research units”, including investment in people.
Institutions should also provide evidence on their size, strategy for research and creating impact from research, and information on their income, infrastructure and facilities.
