Ministers must boost university-business links, say employers

Institute for Student Employers is the latest body to publish its election demands

The Institute for Student Employers is calling on the next government to place a greater emphasis on how businesses collaborate with universities.

In its 2019 general election manifesto, the institute—which represents about 300 large employers—says that universities should be “viewed as engines of local economies” and encouraged to build links with employers and Local Enterprise Partnerships.
