Plaid Cymru to abolish some fees, Brexit Party to scrap interest rate

Student finance and research are among the topics in latest election promises

Plaid Cymru and the Brexit Party have set out their priorities for higher education in their election manifestoes.

Wales’ Plaid Cymru has promised to address the country’s “long-term brain drain” by pledging free tuition for certain students, in its election manifesto published on 22 November. The party said it would review funding for undergraduate and postgraduate students living in Wales, as around 40 per cent of all Welsh students had left the country during the past year.
